“Backs Against the Wall” Documentary on Howard Thurman
Tonight we begin our study of Howard Thurman’s Meditations of the Heart. The ZOOM link is below.
The theme this Lenten Season is “Full to the Brim” and exploring what it means to live a life recognizing the abundant grace of God. Thurman’s work invites us to a deep spirituality that serves as a basis to act with love in the world.
Our first session is to introduce Thurman by watching a documentary (~50 minutes) about his life and work. We will see what kind of impact he had on the civil rights movement and people everywhere looking for a deep spirituality. Meditations of the Heart is one of my favorite books and I’m thrilled to share it with all of you. You are more than welcome to join us whenever you can.
