Just a reminder that we will be having a Joint Worship Team Meeting with Hiram Christian Church Wednesday at 9:30am!  All of the sign-in information below.

Rev. McCreight and I took a physical distancing walk this morning to talk about some ideas for what we will discuss.  The main question we will be asking is can we/should we do worship together regularly/periodically?  Chris suggested a WEEKLY or MONTHLY option so that there could be some kind of rhythm to it.

One possibility we imagined is a worship service pre-recorded similar to ours, but excluding (or shortening) those elements which are more meaningful in a communal environment (prayer, communion, children’s moment, etc).  We could have a pre-recorded worship service premiered (like now) and then come together directly following for prayer, communion, fellowship connection.

If we are doing this “long-term” how do we really nurture/maximize the online presence (YouTube) and the communal interaction?  What is important to us in both of those areas?  I, personally, would want to continue the pre-recorded YouTube option so people could view it and worship any time they choose.  But I’m also very interested in getting some more of that communal connection.

What other options can you imagine?  Are we messing with this too much?  Do we have a desire to connect more deeply with our neighboring congregations?  These are all questions I hope you think about before our meeting tomorrow.
