The Crestwood Coalition for Community Care, also known as The 4C’s, is a non-profit organization that operates an emergency food cupboard, offering resources like groceries, laundry supplies, and paper products for families in need. The organization and its food pantry are open to the community on:
Mondays 4-6pm and Wednesdays & Fridays 1-3pm.

provides free clothing & diapers to families in need. Originally held under the direction of Nancy Tafel is now under the leadership of Lynn Kelley in partnership with St. Joseph's Church.
* Due to the increased need of the community, every family will be limited to one black garbage bag (excluding bulky items),
* Diapers/wipes will be distributed based on availability.
* Do not need to be a resident
* No id required
* We kindly ask: no re-selling or taking for fundraising efforts

Donations of clothing, shoes, accessories & bedding for all ages in good condition will be accepted (no pillows or furniture please). Diapers & wipes accepted anytime. Donations can be made in the St. Pauly box located on the South side of Mantua Center Christian Church.

began in 2015 by Liz & Paul Meeker to provide meals on the weekends, all year, to food insecure families of Crestwood Local Schools. Kids Weekend Meals outreach has grown so much within the community that the need for a 501c3 status was applied for and granted in 2026.
There are so many ways to get involved and support this ministry.
* Drivers are always needed.
* On the 2nd & 4th weeks of the month: Tues: Bread Brigade; Weds: Packing Bags 12pm; Thurs: Delivering Bags.

Participate in the various fundraising events throughout the year: Thanksgiving Plunge, Adopt-a-Kid, Spaghetti Dinners, Quilt Raffles, Birthday Cake Kits, and many more.

is a FREE meal open to all residents in Mantua, Hiram, Garrettsville and surrounding areas. The community is invited to come eat and enjoy some fellowship. This meal is from 5:00-6:30pm the last Thursday of each month from January - October. Donations are accepted to help keep the ministry going.

collects mittens, gloves, hats, headbands and scarves for local children and teens during the month of November to assist economically challenged families. We welcome both homemade and store-bought items which then delivered to the 4-C’s (Crestwood Coalition for Community Care) for distribution. The Mitten Tree started in 2012 and a tree was put up in the Fellowship Hall for items to be hung. In 2018, we began hanging the items on a line within the sanctuary and it was met with great success. It was fun to watch the progress through November as more and more items were added. This is a project that can be worked on throughout the year (especially if you are a knitter or crocheter!) and donate your items in November. began as a tiny idea for doing Acts of Kindness for folks in our church and our community. It started to take shape with input from Dottie Summerlin’s Day of Kindness mission and gained momentum as the pandemic struck. With the cancelling of in-person church services (due to Covid-19) it unveiled a need to find new ways to spread joy and evolved into a formal mission at the suggestion of Jon Secaur.
The first Smile Team event was a “drive-thru” held in the church parking lot on November 14, 2020. We collected (1) food donations for the 4 C’s; (2) hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and masks for the Mitten Tree; and (3) Blessing Bags (kits filled with personal care items) for Family and Community Services. We were excited to be able to hold this event to collect items for these organizations in a safe, socially distanced manner. Many within our church and others who donated items were provided with a free hot dog lunch to express our gratitude for their gifts.
The original members of the Smile Team were Becky Tipton, Chair; Dottie Summerlin, Sandi Kossick, Carolin Newell, and Pat Hoskin. We joyfully welcomed our newest members Kathy Hughes and Marcia Page.
Plans are underway for future projects and events designed to spread joy, love, and plenty of smiles to members of our church, our community, and our world! is a ministry offered to families with preschool aged children. For one hour each week these young students, accompanied by their parents or guardians, share music and movement as we dance to songs that teach. Music is followed by two stories and two related craft projects. Storytime is FREE with no registration required. No long-term commitment, not a faith-based event. Try it any Tuesday from 10:30-11:30am at Mantua Center Christian Church when Crestwood Local Schools is in session. Storytime is open to everyone... bring friends!
