From the Secretary…
Hello to all on this beautiful day! It’s that time for the weekly calendar and I want to point out a few important notices that are happening this week:
1. The Smile Team is having a meeting to help formulate new ideas for helping out and bringing some “smiles” to our church, community and perhaps beyond. The meeting is at R44 Coffee Company at 10am this Tuesday, 9/28. If you have any ideas for the team, please contact Becky Tipton (216) 870-7039 or feel free to stop by the coffee shop and join in!
2. Our Loaves and Fishes Free Community dinner is this Thursday, Sept. 30th from 5-6:30pm. Please pass the word! The team is taking extra precautions to help ensure the safety of all. We had a wonderful turn-out last month and hope for the same this Thursday! Keep in mind that October 28th will be our last meal for 2021.
3. Chi/Rho and CYF are having their 1st event this Sunday, Oct. 3rd, at Camp Hi in Hiram at 2:00pm. It will be a fun event for all! All are welcome to join in! ($25/person)
I also wanted to offer up a note of “Thanks” to all those who contributed to the 4C’s food collection in September. The support from MCCC and our community makes such a difference in the lives of many! Stay tuned for the items needed for October! Also, I want to say “Thanks” to Liz and Paul Meeker and the whole team of workers who bag and deliver bags of food to so many more families this year. There has been a huge need, almost double from last year, and yet these people have all pulled together to “get the job done”. Thanks a million from all the community!
I’m off for now to take advantage of this BEAUTIFUL weather and get some much needed yard work done today. Hope you all are able to take advantage of God’s blessings this week and recognize that even in difficult times, there are many things to be thankful for. Practice counting your blessings!
~Sandi
Loaves & Fishes
Our next Loaves & Fishes Dinner will be held on Thursday, September 30th from 5-6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. Remember, this is a FREE community meal – ANYONE IS WELCOME – so please pass the word! The tentative menu will be: Stroganoff over Noodles, Green Beans, Jello, Rolls and a dessert of Ice Cream with Peach Topping. Beverage choice
of lemonade, water, or Iced Tea.
Extra precautions are taken with the handling of food and sanitizing of tables.
Donations are gratefully accepted.
Skips Music Jam
Skip’s Music Jam had to be cancelled for this month due to the rise in Covid in our county and the smaller space within the Fellowship Hall. We will let you know as soon as possible when it will resume. In the meantime. . . . keep practicing those acoustic instruments!
Both Kathy and Skip have been fully vaccinated for Covid. Hopefully all that attend future jam sessions will likewise be vaccinated. Any questions? Contact Skip Schweitzer at 330-562-9801.
