Weekly MCCC Events – Feb. 7, 2022
Below is our Weekly Calendar of Events. I hope you will check out what is going on this week/month! The items needed for the 4C’s this month are: Noodles, Shampoo, and Laundry Detergent, so please make a note of it when you go grocery shopping in the next few weeks and help out if you are able! We are gratefully thankful for all the support from MCCC!
What a wonderful worship service we had yesterday! If you missed it I hope you will go back and watch it on our website (mantuacentercc.org). I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss a thing . . . so I watched on-line a second time! Slow learner, you might say? Perhaps. But the messages delivered from Roger Cram, Drema Herron, Ally Bozeka, and Pastor Chad were sprinkled with so many blessings and wisdom it was worth a second view!
I would like to mention just one portion of yesterday’s service. As Ally pointed out during the Children’s Moment, things that we think will make us happy are many times like “blowing bubbles.” We get excited to see them and it makes us happy, until we touch them or they touch the ground and they pop. It is a fun – but fleeting happiness. Although Ally’s segment is geared to the kids, it makes me wonder if some of us are “chasing bubbles” in our own lives . . . reaching for things that we feel we just have to have in order to be content and happy. (ie. bigger TV’s, newest cell phone, an “elite” brand of clothes or shoes, a personal relationship,a prestigious job, etc.) It might be a source of happiness for a little while, however, it is sometimes short lived, and eventually pops like the bubbles, and we again find ourselves in search of the next item or “thing” we must have. Let us remember that our true lasting source of happiness is through Jesus. May we all strive to seek spiritual sustenance in our lives, as Pastor Chad stated, “drinking deeply of the Living Waters – the Word and Spirit of Christ.” Are YOU chasing bubbles? Where does your source of long lasting happiness come from? Just some things to ponder as we begin our second week of February!
Wishing you blessings of lasting happiness!
