MCCC Weekly Updates & Events – June 17, 2023
Good Morning “Church Family”,
First, I’d like to remind all of you that our Board Meeting (which is normally scheduled on the 3rd Sunday of the month) has been moved to NEXT Sunday, June 25th from 12-1pm, to insure it won’t conflict with Father’s Day this Sunday! I hope you will take some time and celebrate your dad and recognize all the things they have taught you and provided for you over the years. Happy Father’s Day to all the dad’s, and all the men in our lives who were like a dad to us!
Second, don’t forget that NEXT Sunday, June 25th is our “4th for the 4C’s”! Items needed this month are: Coffee – regular or instant (in regular size containers please), Jello, and Toothpaste. It would be great if you could add just one (or all!) of these items to your next trip to the grocery store. The families in our community will greatly appreciate your efforts! The 4C’s mission group is grateful for your continued support!
Tomorrow we will again be blessed through the scriptures and lessons by Rev. Dr. Alicia Evans-Hayes. She has brought to our church a different spiritual connection that perhaps some of us had not experienced before. Rev. Alicia has provided an uplifting experience for all of us during this season of Sabbatical, and I believe Pastor Chad knew what he was doing when he asked Rev. Alicia to serve as our Guest Preacher this summer. If you haven’t heard her preach yet, please join us this Sunday and immerse yourself in this new worship experience!
Joining Rev. Alicia will be Katie Baird as Worship Leader, Kathleen Lewarchick who will lead the Children’s Moment, Beth Schabel and Rev. Nancy Humes who will lead us through Communion, Sarah Park who will set the tone with her lovely piano music, ANDRyan and Karly Lind who will add to our service with two of their own special music selections! Thank you to all these talented individuals who give of themselves to provide a fruitful Worship Service for us all!
On a side note . . .
I have heard through the “grapevine” that the Youth Mission Trip seems to have been a huge success! All the participants are returning sometime today, and they have accomplished many things that have impacted others’ lives in West Virginia. I am really proud of these youth and the leaders as well!! I look forward to hearing about their trip in the near future! It is a living example of what can be accomplished when many hands and hearts are working together. Congratulations to all the participants for a job well done!
May we all be like this group of leaders/workers and grab a friend to make a difference in the life of someone else this week! Let’s always remember to follow God’s lead!
