MCCC Weekly Updates & Events – July 2, 2023
I’d like to share/remind you of a few events that will be coming up very soon.
1) This is Kids Weekend Meals week, so don’t forget to make sure the “Bread Brigade” deliveries are at the church before the end of the day on Tuesday. Bag Packers are on Wednesday, and Deliveries are on Thursday. Thank you again so much for ALL of your combined efforts of working together to make this a success!
2) Knitting and Crocheting Group will meet at the Hilltop Church at 1:30 to work on projects!
3) Tuesday is the 4th of July! Let’s fly those flags and celebrate our Independence!
4) This Saturday is Mantua’s Art on the Hill & Wine Tasting too! This event draws a large crowd every year from all around our area! There will be vendors, music, wine tastings, a photo contest and lots of food vendors! Hope you will grab a friend or two and make it down to Prospect Street between 10-6 on Saturday! Hope to see you there!
5)On July 23rd, we will be “THANKING” Rev. Alicia for all her work she has done to fill in while Chad is away. Please mark your calendars for our Ice Cream Social to show our MCCC appreciation! Her last official day will be July 30th. Please plan to attend the “social” and also be present on Rev. Alicia’s last day, July 30th
. Then . . . . please stay afterward for our Potluck luncheon – and don’t forget to bring a dish to pass! Please see the ad in the Weekly Calendar.
Ok, now to the order of business! Rev. Alicia will be joined tomorrow by Rev. Nancy Humes as Worship Leader, Brian Hurd who will lead the Children’s Moment, Pete Pruszynski and Sandi Kossick who will guide us through Communion, and Sarah Park who will lend her talents on the piano. In addition, we are pleased to have Pam Auble who will provide our “Special Music” following Communion. Thanks to all who help make our MCCC service special!
On a side note:
In the Weekly Calendar, our NEW Challenge of the Week is to “Step outside of your comfort zone & help someone in need – in ANY way!” So, perhaps you will be attending picnics for the 4th, or watching fireworks from a farther location – maybe with a large group of strangers. . . or maybe you will opt for a quiet celebration with a few friends or family. Whatever your plans, take a few moments and “people watch!” See if you might reach out to someone . . . maybe even a stranger . . . to help ease a situation, extend a helping hand, help out a little extra with a family member or friend . . . or just make a point to be extra kind to ANYONE! Again, I would love to hear your stories of how it made you feel and how it made “them” feel. Did they smile? Did they even notice? Last week’s challenge was to “be a listening ear to someone in need” . . . send in those comments too! I would love to hear them!
Wishing you all a great 4th of July this week, and please stay safe and drive carefully if you go anywhere!
Blessings to all!
Sandi
