MCCC Weekly Updates & Events – July 23, 2023
The General Assembly will be held July 29th – August 1st in Louisville, Kentucky.
Rev. Nancy Humes and Katie Baird will be participating as representatives of MCCC and will vote on our behalf as voting delegates at the General Assembly. We have commissioned our delegates to this ministry and they would like to share with you two links with information regarding issues they will be voting upon. Please look at this information, and if you would like your voice to be heard, please contact Nancy (330) 592-2855, or Katie (330) 285-8537. This information will also be provided in the bulletin. We are excited for these two ladies to be representing our church next week!
Here is the link to all the business for this year’s General Assembly. https://ga.disciples.org/business/ You must scroll down a bit until you get to the spreadsheet with all the business items in red. Click on the name of the business item and the text for it will come up.
Also, here is a link to a brief video that was created to explain the main changes in GA-2343 Amendments to the Design of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). https://youtu.be/utHFvH-p1f8. Nancy thought it was very helpful.
Joan Siman’s Memorial Service will be Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11am at MCCC. We have been asked to provide a luncheon following the service and I will be sending out an email soon with donation requests that I will need. Please keep on the lookout for that email! I am thanking you all in advance for your support for the Siman family.
Our 5th Challenge of the Week is: “To be a shining light to all!” Matthew 5:14
Try to go through life’s challenges this week with a smile on your face, and the love of Christ in your heart! Then, send me a note of how you felt this week — or how do you think it made someone else feel? Let’s hope that by the end of the week your cup will be filled to the brim with the light of Christ, and that it will show through to all you meet, and in everything you do!
Wishing you an upcoming week filled with the joy and light of Christ! Let your light SHINE!
