MCCC Weekly Updates & Events – August 6, 2023
The 7th Challenge of the week is an easy one! It is simply to “contemplate this week’s scripture, Micah 6:6-8!”
What does God require of you? Are you following in his footsteps? Feel free to send me a message of what this scripture means to you!
We will have the pleasure of hearing the word of God from Liz Meeker, who will be our Guest Speaker/Worship Leader tomorrow for Worship! She will be referencing the Scripture Micah 6:6-8. Please check it out prior to service! Joining Liz will be Kathleen Lewarchick for the Children’s Moment (please bring your kids!), Sandi Kossick and Beth Schabel who will guide us through Communion, Sarah Park
who will provide our music hymns, and Jon Secaur and Steve Hurd who will sing another selection from Godspell! Thanks for all of your inspiring ways to make our service an uplifting one for all!
I must take a moment to say a BIG THANK YOU to all those who provided help in ANY way for the Memorial Service for Joan Siman yesterday. The service was very special, and the luncheon was welcomed by all! I may have been the one organizing this event, but I COULD NOT have pulled it off without ALL of your help. Thanks to all who helped with set-up, clean-up, and supplying all the food necessities for this event. It always amazes me when the church just pulls together to make everything work out! You each played a part in being a blessing to the Siman family, and they really appreciated it. Per John’s request, the extra food was donated to the Mantua Fire Department. Thanks be to God!
In the bulletin attachment, there is a list of upcoming events that will be going on with the church. On the list is the annual MCCC Canoe/Kayak event that will take place NEXT SUNDAY, August 13th (weather permitting). It is a 3-hour trip with Pizza and drinks at the end at Camp Hi. The price is $36/person for either Canoe or Kayak, and everyone will meet at 1pm at Camp Hi. All money is to be paid to Steve Hurd ahead of time, so he can pay with one check to get the group rate. Please check out all the details at the end of the bulletin attachment for more details!
I am wishing you many blessings this week as you focus on our 7th Challenge of the Week. I hope you can take a few minutes to really contemplate whether you are doing “what God requires of you!” Are there things you might change about you? Think about it and I hope to see you tomorrow!
