MCCC Weekly Update – June 28, 2021
Below you will find this week’s MCCC and Community Events. Although the actual calendar looks pretty “blank”, there are MANY things going on behind the scenes! We have our “Stream Team” busily working on being able to coordinate our YouTube live stream from inside the church. We really are blessed to have Carol Magyarics and Jon Secaur utilize their technical knowledge to make all the magic happen! There are so many items to learn as well as figure out when problems arise. Many, many thanks for all their expertise!
We also have our Gathering Team reviewing the survey results and finding ways that we can all worship together safely. Likewise, the Worship Team has been finding ways to be a more inclusive congregation when it seemed that all the cards were stacked against us! Thanks to both these teams for all their contributions!
Also, behind the scenes, has been the cleaning/sanitizing of the church thanks to the efforts of Pat Hoskin! She has been a real soldier in this cause, all in the name of safety, compliance of the State’s orders, and love of our church. We cannot thank Pat enough for all the hours she has spent keeping up our beloved church. As we begin to enter into worship inside the church this Sunday, please be respectful and throw away any of your unwanted trash or take it with you. Let’s be mindful of leaving our sanctuary as pristine as when we entered! Whether you decide to worship in the sanctuary, on the lawn, or via YouTube, we pray you will have a blessed worship experience! Wishing you all a safe and Happy 4th of July!
Blessings to you all!
Sandi

Keep in mind that on Sunday, July 4th , the congregation will have yet another option for worship! We will be offering the option to gather together inside the church for the 1st time in 16 months. We will still provide YouTube Live for those who do not feel comfortable worshipping inside. Please stay tuned for other updates and/or possible options as we get closer to July 4th!

~ SMILE Team Update
During the month of June, The Smile Team has completed a couple of community projects and we wanted to share the good news with everyone!
The first week of June we honored the Mantua Fire Department by providing individual banana breads for each of the staff. Our newest member, Marcia Page, graciously offered to do the baking, and she and Dottie Summerlin delivered the surprise gifts, wrapped up with ribbons, to the Fire Dept. What fun to recognize those who support our entire community in need!
Currently, Becky Tipton (our fearless leader!), organized providing snacks for kids who are participating in the Extended Learning Program at Crestwood High School! This summer program runs for 5 weeks, and through various donations, we were able to fill this need for the students! The kids and teachers were very appreciative! We will continue to deliver these goodies for the next several weeks.
Our next scheduled event will be a Bake Sale, held on the “Green” in conjunction with the Mantua Historical Society Flea Market on July 17th from 9:30-1:30. This event will help us raise money to continue with other “Smile Team” projects through the end of the year (& maybe beyond!). If you are interested in helping to provide baked goods please contact Becky Tipton at (216) 870-7039. If you can’t bake, we hope you can stop by and pick up some dessert for you, your family, or a friend! If you would like to make a monetary donation, it can be done online at www.mantuacentercc.org. Click on the “Give Online” button and be sure to specify it is for the
Smile Team.

~ Kids Weekend Meals Help Needed
Kids Weekend Meals is in need of another delivery driver! One of our routes has gotten so big that we need to split it.
Our procedure is to deliver on Thursday (every other week) at anytime that works for you. Since we can now get into the church (you will need to have or get a key) and load any frozen or refrigerated products into the bags. Specific instructions are given to you each and every bi weekly delivery.
We are seeking someone who can consistently handle this job, obviously allowing for appointments and vacations. If you are interested in this rewarding volunteer position; please call Liz Meeker at 330-283-4630 or email at [email protected].
~ Note from the Secretary
If any of you know of MCCC events or community events that should be publicized in our weekly newsletter, please send the information to me by Saturday evening at [email protected].
Thanks to all for your help!
