Volunteers are NEEDED
Kids Weekend Meals
For the first time, probably ever, I am speechless. This is the time that we get applications to the guidance counselors to include in the take home packets. While, I have always known that there were more people out there needing food than what we had last year, I definitely wasn’t expecting this. The deadline was set at Sept 10th so more could come in, but so far we have 200 kids in 84 families. I am stunned and also heartbroken that so many need help. Kids Meals may also need help but part of that, I will deal with later.
For now, I am looking (again) for 1 or 2 additional drivers for deliveries. This job delivers to a set amount of families in a given area every two weeks. I will give instructions after I get helpers. I can’t thank you all enough for even thinking about it. We welcome everyone to participate in this ministry of the heart!

Bread Brigade
Hello Congregation! The post above shows the increased number of families and kids within our community that are in need of food from Kids Weekend Meals (KWM). Throughout the pandemic, there have been a group of ladies at MCCC who have supplied all the bread for the families in need. It averages out to donating 7 loaves per person every other week – we call ourselves the “Bread Brigade!”
With the increased number of families, we are in need of extra help so we won’t be too overwhelmed with all the extra bread now needed. If any of you have been thinking about getting involved more within the church, or feel the desire to reach out and actively help others in need, this might be your opportunity! We would love to have your support!
