MCCC Weekly Events Jan 24, 2022
Since I am snowbound today, I thought I would do our weekly calendar ahead of time. I am feeling very grateful that I was able to watch this mornings’ worship service via YouTube live since I didn’t make it out of my driveway! Thank you God for providing the technical wisdom to those in charge of our internet viewings! And . . . thanks to those who were able to join Pastor Chad to make our worship service complete!
- TeaTime for Peace via Zoom, Tues. Jan. 25th @7pm Please remember to register if you want to attend. The link is: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZ0pfu-tqTIoHtduea_Y0NUR9ZRVij0UJAFk. I hope to see some familiar MCCC faces there!

- To all the leaders/Chairs at MCCC, this is a reminder that your 2021 Annual Reports are due this Sunday, Jan. 30th! Start typing away! 😉
- A NEW Free Clothing Giveaway is starting on March 12th (time to be determined) at St. Joseph’s Church in Mantua!! Donated clothes (from MCCC members only), and donations of hangers and 30gal. size trash bags may be dropped off to Nancy Tafel in front of her garage at: 12310 Abbott Rd., Hiram, Oh 44234. No need to call or contact her first. Make sure items are bagged and just drop off!
So, shortly after the service this morning I was checking my emails and every morning, like clockwork, there was a message from Laura Parker through Remind.com. Every morning she selects and sends out a scripture reading to any individuals who have signed up with her through Remind. This morning the scripture was Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” I thought to myself what a great scripture that was to start my day! I had a couple of projects scheduled to do today (which my husband would have to talk me through), and they were “fix it” items that I had never done before. For those of you who don’t know, my husband Paul had a stroke about 3 years ago and lost use of his right arm/hand and partially his leg. The tasks that would have taken him just 5 minutes to do have now become my tasks . . . and they definitely take a bit longer! At any rate, I was grateful to Laura for choosing this scripture because not only was Paul helping me, but I felt God was helping to provide the strength I needed to successfully complete my tasks. My sump pump is now working (fingers crossed!) and my light switch for the deck is officially replaced – without electrocuting myself! I guess I CAN do all things through Him who strengthens me!
If any of you would also like to start your day with a scripture reading and have not signed up, you can download the Remind app or sign on to Remind.com. Then contact Laura Parker at: [email protected]. I spoke with her this morning and know she will be thrilled to add you to the list! What a great way to start the day! Thanks Laura for this daily gift!
As we go through this week and perhaps encounter unexpected roadblocks, delays, or difficult situations on our journeys, try to remember Philippians 4:13 to get you through:
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
Blessings to you all, and stay safe this week in your travels!
