From Pastor Chad – Building Update, Mission Trip & Vacation, O&A
Lots of updates for you today as the summer season is upon us. Take a moment to give thanks for all our local school district teachers and staff. They put in a ton of our hard work for our children and we are blessed by their efforts. Please pray for all the children for whom the summer months are hard at home. Thanks be to God for our StoryTime Crew, Kid’s Weekend Meals, the Smile Team, Loaves & Fishes and all who give to the children and families within our community!
BUILDING UPDATES
There is much and more to share about the work being done on our church building! Our MCCC Trustees have been diligently overseeing the work being done and our Third Century Team has already gathered to start thinking about our vision for the future. It is all exciting, will take time, and we greatly appreciate your prayers, patience, and participation!
So far we have completed the waterproofing, front steps, and sidewalk. The next parts of the first phase of projects are the front step railings, new front doors, handicap accessibility ramp, front stairwell expansion, chairlift, and a new ADA accessible restroom off the fellowship hall. The Third Century Team is beginning the process of dreaming about a potential second phase. Please keep all the leaders in your prayers and please look for ways to participate financially and with some sweat equity!
MISSION TRIP & VACATION TIME
This Sunday, I will be joining the 21 other youth and adults going on the CYF United Mission Trip to Mayfield, Kentucky. We will be working with the Week of Compassion to work on homes decimated by tornadoes. We VERY MUCH appreciate all your love and support at our CYF Auction gathering and as we leave for the trip. Keep us in your prayers.
After returning from the Mission Trip, I will be with you to preach and lead worship on June 16th, but then I will be going on vacation the following two weeks on a trip to Maine with family. We are looking forward to the time away and experiencing the wonderful Acadia National Park. Keep us in your prayers.
I will then be back for the month of July, but will again take 2 weeks of vacation in August to spend time with family before the oldest two head off to college. Thank you for your love and support as I take some vacation time and spend time with family this summer.
O&A REMINDER
On June 16th we will have a congregational meeting to vote on our revised Welcoming Statement and affirm our church as an Open & Affirming congregation. Please pray on this and try to be present for this important part of the life of our church. The statement is below.
WORSHIP
This Sunday, we will be led in worship by Kathleen Lewarchick and Nancy Humes. Kathleen will be exploring a wonderful passage in 2 Corinthians and talking with us about the powerful example of Christ experiencing suffering and despair. How do we best move through the hardest times in our lives? Thank you to Kathleen for sharing a word with us and thanks to all those who will participate in the worship service Sunday in my absence. We have an amazing Worship Team and are always in good hands.
God’s grace and peace be with you and have a wonderful rest of the week!
