From Pastor Chad – Seasons, Thursday, Camp Christian
This is the Day the Lord has Made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it! What a beautiful summer week it has been (although we could certainly use some rain)! I’m definitely a summer person. I love it when Monroe’s puts the “Peaches” sign out by the road. I love when watermelon becomes an “every meal” (at least at our house!) food and now we’re looking forward to the fresh sweet corn. All that being said, I’ll admit that when school starts, the leaves start changing, and there is a crisp coolness in the air… I’ll be ready for the hot and humid to go away.
Just as the seasons change, bringing new colors, food choices, and experiences, so do the seasons of our lives. Each season has its joys and challenges, whether it’s the warmth of summer or the crispness of fall. Yet, through every season, we can trust that God is walking with us. God walks beside us through the sunny days, the changes, and the storms, offering an abundance of love and grace. As we move from one season to the next, let’s remember to rejoice every step of the way, trusting that God is leading us and with us in every moment.
Thursday Night at MCCC!
Thursday evening was a busy one at MCCC! As you know, every last Thursday of the month is our Loaves & Fishes community meal. The evening began with amazing hospitality offered by the volunteers at Loaves & Fishes. When you walked into fellowship hall you were greeted with a smile and offered something to drink. After sitting down, a plate of good food was brought to you. We had beef hotdogs, baked beans, applesauce, and chips. It was great! All the volunteers did a fantastic job and welcomed people with the Spirit of Christ. During the meal, we had a group of our MCCC Trustees go to a special Mantua Township meeting to finalize some paperwork related to our land swap. There is still a process to go through, but–due to the hard work of our Trustees–we may be able to start the accessibility ramp sometime soon. Then, at 7:00pm, the Third Century Committee gathered to talk about how to move forward with goals for the church building. Soon, the committee will be looking for substantive feedback (via survey) to see what the congregation might hope for. Stay tuned! Thank you to everyone who makes MCCC a vibrant and active community.
Camp Christian Campaign
You may not have heard that the Christian Church in Ohio is beginning an ambitious campaign to revitalize the region and Camp Christian. There is a proposal to install a new pool, make general improvements, and add staff to make it all happen. Check out the document below to learn more!
This Sunday we will be exploring a passage in Ephesians 4 and thinking about the unity of Christ’s church. We will also have special music by the Linds and Charlotte Hooker. Hope to see you in worship!
Peace, Chad
