Message from Pastor Chad – Snow Day, Worship & Gatherings!
This week, the snow has blanketed our world and brought many things to a halt. There’s something about a snow day that slows us down, whether we like it or not—an unplanned pause that can remind us of God’s invitation to rest and reflect. It’s also great fun at my house where we have a teenager and teacher who had school canceled!
In these snowy moments, I’m reminded of Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.” Snow days can feel like interruptions, but they are also opportunities to pause, to breathe, and to notice the beauty of God’s creation all around us. As the snow covers the ground, I invite you to reflect on what God’s peace might cover in your life—your worries, fears, or even your to-do list. What might God be saying to you in the stillness?
This Sunday is Peace Sunday and together we’ll explore how preparing for Christ’s arrival can bring peace to our hearts and homes. We’ll continue our Advent journey with reflection, music, and coming to the Lord’s Table. I hope you’ll join us, whether in person or online, as we light the second Advent candle and make plans to welcome Christ into our lives again.
And there’s more happening this weekend to bring us together as a church family!
OWM Craft Bazaar – Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM
The craft bazaar is at the Mantua Center School and will feature many wonderful local artisans. Come check it out!
Church Christmas Party – Sunday from 1–5 PM
We’d love for you to join us for our much loved MCCC Christmas party. Bring a “hand-made” (by someone) gift and an appetizer to share. Childcare will be provided.
As we prepare for all that Advent brings, let’s also make space for one another, sharing peace, joy, and love in the midst of the season’s busyness.
Stay warm, stay safe, and I’ll see you this weekend!
Grace and peace,
Pastor Chad
