From Pastor Chad – Lent, Camp, and Week of Compassion

This past Sunday, we found ourselves apart due to the ice storm. While it was difficult to not be together, I’m grateful that everyone stayed safe and warm. I was reminded of Lamentations 3:22-23, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Even when plans change and we are apart, God’s mercies remain. Each new day brings fresh opportunities to experience God’s presence—whether in the quiet of our homes, in the beauty of creation, or in the joy of coming back together in worship. I look forward to seeing you this Sunday as we reflect on faith, wonder, and what it means to welcome God’s kingdom with childlike openness. We will worship in Camp-style and hear several stories about the impact of Camp Christian!
Looking Ahead to Lent
Lent is just around the corner, beginning with our Ash Wednesday service on March 5th at 6:30pm. This season of reflection and renewal will follow the theme: “This is My Story, This is My Song.” More details will be coming soon, but I want to invite you to begin preparing your hearts for this meaningful journey together.
Camp Christian Fundraiser – “If Not Now, When?”
I wanted to share again this message about the Camp fundraiser:
Camp Christian has been shaping faith and community for 75 years, serving as a place of transformation and connection. To ensure its future, the Ohio Regional Church is launching the If Not Now, When? campaign to build a new pool and expand regional ministry support. This ambitious $2.5 million effort will help Camp thrive for generations to come.
Below, you’ll find a brochure with more details. If Camp has impacted your life or the life of someone you love, I encourage you to consider how you might support this effort—whether through giving, sharing the vision, or keeping the campaign in your prayers.
Week of Compassion – Special Offering on February 23
Each year, we join with Week of Compassion to extend Christ’s love to those facing crisis, from natural disasters to refugee support. On February 23, we will collect our special offering, including coin boxes from those who have been filling them. You can always designate a gift through online giving on the website or go to www.weekofcompassion.org to get more info!
I look forward to gathering again and worshiping with you this Sunday!
Grace and peace,
Pastor Chad
