Easter and Camp Christian Sunday Message from Pastor Chad

As we finish the week after Easter, I pray that the joy of resurrection is still within each of our hearts! We had over 100 people at our Sunrise service, collected over $400 for the youth at breakfast, and had a wonderful Easter service. Thank you for your love and presence in this season of telling stories of our faith.
One of my favorite resurrection stories in all of scripture is Luke 24:30-32 where we read about two disciples walking with the risen Christ on the road to Emmaus. At first they don’t recognize him and tell him (Jesus in disguise) all about how they “had hoped” he had been the one to redeem Israel. Then the hidden Christ was about to move on, but they invited him in to eat with them. The scripture says, “When he was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him… They said to each other, ‘Were not our hearts burning within us while he was talking to us on the road?’”
Even after the empty tomb, there were moments of uncertainty about how they were all going to move forward. But Christ was with them whether they knew it or not, still teaching, encouraging, and revealing new life along the way! The same is true for us. Easter isn’t the end of the story. It’s the beginning of a journey where resurrection takes root in the daily story of our lives. Let’s keep looking for Christ in the breaking of bread, in quiet moments of grace, and in the love we share with one another.
Camp Christian Sunday!
This Sunday, we’ll continue our Easter journey with Camp Christian Sunday, celebrating the sacred campground that has helped so many of us grow in faith (including me!). Camp Christian has been a place of transformation and beloved community in our region for 75 years. As part of this celebration, we’re excited to support a new regional initiative called “If Not Now, When? Campaign.” This is a bold effort to raise $2.5 million to support the future of Camp Christian. The funds will help build a new pool, add regional leadership, and ensure Camp continues to be a place of growth for future generations.
More will be shared as we go, but I’ve attached a brochure and case statement that beautifully lay out the vision. Please take a look and pass it along to anyone who has ever been touched by the ministry of Camp Christian.
I hope to see you Sunday in worship!
Grace and peace,
Pastor Chad
