Message from Pastor Chad – Palms to Passion & Holy Week

This Sunday, we begin the sacred journey of Holy Week. Together we follow Jesus’ path that begins with waving palms and joyful “Hosannas” and carries us toward the shadow of the cross. Each year, this moment asks us to pause, to feel the weight and wonder of what Christ has done, and to open our hearts more fully to the story that reshapes our faith and world.
In John 12:13, the people took palm branches and went out to meet Jesus, shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!” That same crowd, just days later, would cry out, “Crucify him!” The tension between celebration and sorrow, between hope and heartbreak, is at the heart of Holy Week. This all mirrors the messiness of our own lives: moments of faith and failure, joy and grief, trust and fear.
This Lent has been a season of storytelling and a time of remembering who we are and who God is. Our theme, “This is my story, this is my song,” invites us to see ourselves in the disciples, the crowds, the ones who misunderstood, and the ones who loved and followed Jesus even to the cross. In this holy season, each of our stories matter and I’m thankful for the story God is still unfolding in you!
Please join us this Sunday for our special Palms to Passion Service at MCCC. Through scripture, music, and story, we’ll walk together through the final days of Jesus’ life.
