A Pastor Chad Message – Blessing this Sunday

This week, I’ve been reflecting on what it means to be the Body of Christ especially in a time when we’ve seen so many hands at work, so many hearts invested, and so much faithful effort poured into working on our church building. One passage in particular has stuck out for me in this process:
“Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many…If the foot were to say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,’ that would not make it any less a part of the body…If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it.” (1 Corinthians 12).
In this passage, Paul reminds us that no part of our church community is unnecessary or extraneous. No act of love, no effort of service, no gift–no matter how quiet or visible–is without purpose. We are not just a collection of individuals. We are a living, breathing body knit together by the Holy Spirit, and each of us carries a vital part of the ministry. Each of us bring something different in our offering.
Some offerings come with hammers and paintbrushes. Some come with quiet prayer, warm meals, or a listening ear. Others come in the form of leadership, generosity, encouragement, or wisdom. And when we come together in Christ, each of those gifts becomes part of something larger than itself, a church built not only of stone and drywall, but of faith, grace, and mutual care.
Sunday Sacred Space Celebration
This Sunday, we will celebrate the work that has been done on the building and give thanks. We’ll be blessing our newly renovated space and honoring the deep work and dedication that has gone into it from our faithful trustees, our volunteers, and all who gave, prayed, and showed up to give to the Lord. And more than celebrating a building, we are celebrating a beloved community that is being built together into a dwelling place for God (Eph 2:22) and remembering that we are God’s temple wherever we go.
So please join us this Sunday and be part of the joy to remind one another of the holy work we will continue to build and share. We will also be hearing some special music and welcoming a couple who is newly joining our church!
Looking forward to being with you in worship this Sunday!
Peace,
Chad
