Welcome to the Mantua Center Christian Church
- We are a community seeking to have open minds, open hearts, and open arms, building community in a fragmented world.
- We want to welcome everyone who is in the house today and everyone online. We are grateful for all the many ways you can join us for worship on this Lord’s Day.
- REMINDER: We are “masks optional,” restrooms and nursery are open as needed.
- I have made an invitation to the congregation about Baptism that I want to draw your attention to. If there is interest, please reach out to me.
- Our worship service today is a special occasion in the life of our church. We have been blessed with Pastor Sarah Smith as our Student Pastor over the last 2 years and today is her last Sunday. We will take time today to celebrate her ministry and ours together.
- As we do so, we will be contemplating some powerful scripture passages on the Wisdom and hearing what God has to say to us through them.
Let’s prepare our hearts and minds for worship with our Opening Scripture Reading

Weave, weave, weave us together,
Weave us together, in unity and love.
Weave, weave, weave us together,
weave us together, together in love.
*Call to Worship
ONE: Listen! Wisdom is calling!
ALL: Before all began, God , Word, and Wisdom
Creating, calling, from the foundations of the deep
ONE: Listen! Wisdom is calling!
ALL: From the mountain tops, earth, fields and sea
Creating, calling from the foundations of the deep
ONE: Listen! Wisdom is calling!
ALL: To those who suffer God’s love is given!
Endurance blossoms from the foundations of the deep
ONE: Listen! Wisdom is calling!
ALL: Poured into our hearts that we may become Christ’s hand
and heart, love as the foundation of our lives
*Opening Hymn - Have Thine Own Way, Lord - #588 Chalice Hymnal
Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Thou art the potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after thy will,
while I am waiting, yielded and still.
Offering of Praise - Rev. Chad Delaney
Today, we are celebrating ministry and the many gifts that Pastor Sarah has brought to us at Mantua Center. We have been blessed and so we are grateful. We remember too, that a community is strongest when we work together. We’ve seen over and over again especially during the pandemic that one person doesn’t make a church, but it is our gifts together as the Body of Christ that allows the Light of Christ shine in our world. Today, may each of us listen to the still small voice of God in our hearts and spirits beckoning us somehow, someway to service, to ministry, and to love.
Let us Pray: Mothering God, bless all the gifts given in this community today for the betterment of your world, as we each seek to be a part of building your Kin-dom. Inspire in us wisdom, courage, and faith to follow the call you have placed on our lives and as a church together. In Jesus Name, Amen.
