Opening Scripture: Psalm 98:1-8 (live) Beth Voynovich
*Response - Weave (recorded) Pam Auble
*Call to Worship (live) - Chad
ONE: We celebrate today our mothers who bore us and cradled us as infants.
ALL: We also remember mothers who have lost their children, whose tears still flow from their broken hearts.
ONE: We express gratitude to our spiritual mothers and fathers who guided us throughout life, modeling for us the love of God.
ALL: We hold up mothers of diverse religions and creeds who experience life in different ways
ONE: We pray for those who we love and hold dear to our hearts—children, youth, young adults, and elders;
ALL: And we pray for those we know and do not hold dear, and those who we do not know and whose suffering we have not embraced.
ONE: On this Mother’s Day, we come to worship the living God, to honor motherhood in all its forms,and to find our solace and peace in the goodness that life brings;
ALL: We hope to depart this place transformed by Christ’s Spirit, rooted in compassion, justice, mercy, and love. Amen

*Song of Praise: (recorded) “Faith of our Mothers”
Faith of our mothers, we will love both friend and foe in all our strife,
and preach thee, too, as love knows how, by saving word and faithful life! Faith of our mothers, holy faith, we will be true to thee till death.
The martyrs bound in prison chains were still in heart and conscious free,
And blessed would be their children’s fate, if they, like them, should live for thee!
Faith of the martyrs, holy faith, we will be true to thee till death.
Faith of our fathers, living still in spite of dungeon, fire and sword,
Oh, how our hearts beat high with joy when-e’er we hear that glorious word!
Faith of our fathers, holy faith, we will be true to thee till death.

Communion Hymn (recorded) - My Faith Looks up to Thee
My faith looks up to thee, thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine: now hear me while I pray, take all my guilt away,
O let me from this day be wholly thine.
May thy rich grace impart strength to my fainting heart,
my zeal inspire; as thou hast died for me, O may my love to thee
pure, warm, and changeless be, a living fire.
While life's dark maze I tread, and griefs around me spread,
be thou my guide; bid darkness turn to day, wipe sorrow's tears away,
nor let me ever stray from thee aside.

Closing Hymn (recorded) - O Master, Let me Walk with Thee
Let’s stand and sing our Closing Hymn - O Master…
O Master, let me walk with thee
In lowly paths of service free;
Tell me thy secret, help me bear
The strain of toil, the fret of care.
Help me the slow of heart to move
By some clear, winning word of love;
Teach me the wayward feet to stay,
And guide them in the homeward way.
Teach me thy patience; still with thee
In closer, dearer company,
In work that keeps faith sweet and strong,
In trust that triumphs over wrong.
In hope that sends a shining ray
Far down the future's broad'ning way,
In peace that only thou canst give,
With thee, O Master, let me live.
