MCCC Updates – October 11, 2026

This Sunday, BOTH Chi-Rho and CYF will gather at MCCC from 6:00–7:30 p.m. Feel free to bring your friends!
As you enter the church on Sunday and receive your bulletin, don’t forget to take a moment to write in the journal in the entryway if you know someone who needs prayers or to share a special joy this week. These will be included in Rev. Cynthia’s Pastoral Prayer. We want to both pray and rejoice with each of you!
NEW TIME FOR BELL PRACTICE! Just a reminder that Bell Choir practice will resume THIS Monday at a NEW TIME, 6:30pm at MCCC! Now is the time to join us if you have ever thought about participating in the Bell Choir! Everyone is encouraged to join us at 6:30pm!
Faith Brewer and Pam Auble are organizing their first “Trick or Treat” event at MCCC on Sunday, October 25th from 2-4pm. Faith is asking for various donations of candy, your time (to pass out treats), snacks, drinks, etc. If you can help, please bring donations to the church and place them in the designated “Trick or Treat” bin in the back of the sanctuary. This event will also host face painting, hotdogs, snacks, pumpkin painting and live music performances! Spread the word – ALL ARE WELCOME! It will be a “spook-tacular” time! See the attached flyer!

The 4C’s (Crestwood Coalition of Community Care) still needs volunteers! 4C’s is interested in finding a representative from Mantua Center Church to attend board meetings to help with communication between the organizations. The board meetings are once a month usually the first Monday of the month, but can vary slightly. Also, 4C’s is in dire need of volunteers to help pack or do intake information for clients. No help will be turned away! Contact Sue Pollard if you are interested: whiteoaks082586@gmail.com OR call (234) 450-4168.

On a side note . . .
Fall is definitely upon us! As I venture outside I can smell the cooler crisp air and see the leaves beginning to change color. As the vibrant colors of fall slowly transform the world around us, we are reminded that change can bring beauty, renewal, and new beginnings. Just as nature embraces the changing seasons, we, as a church, are invited to prayerfully consider how our church, too, can grow and flourish through the changes that lie ahead. Our Stewardship Campaign invites us to reflect on the gifts God has entrusted to us and how we can use them to strengthen both our church and its ministry. Through prayerful reflection, generosity, and a shared commitment to our future, we can ensure that MCCC continues to be a place of faith, fellowship, and service to others. Like the colorful leaves that brighten the autumn landscape, may our collective gifts bring new life and vibrancy to our church, allowing God’s love to shine brightly for future generations.
The 2026 Stewardship Campaign begins this Sunday, Oct. 11th and runs through Oct. 25th. During this time period, may we reflect on the question, “How is God calling ME to participate in His work through this church?” Helping with missions? Through financial means? Sharing musical talents? Writing cards to those in need? Only you can decide . . . What is God calling YOU to do?
Don’t forget to bring a smile to someone (or several “someone’s”) this week through acts of kindness. Let your light shine brightly upon everyone you meet! Amen!
Sandi
