MCCC Message from Pastor Chad – Gratitude & Advent
First, I wanted to say how THANKFUL my family and I are for all of you! We are so blessed with such an incredible church family to call home and for all the ways you have supported us and loved us over the last year. We will sit down to Thanksgiving this year with extraordinary gratitude for our church and community. Thank you for being such a blessing in our lives!
Second, below is our MCCC Advent Schedule. On the sheet you will see our Advent Theme (“Close to Home”), the dates and times of events, as well as the theme and scripture readings for each Sunday. We hope you will be blessed by this wonderful theme shared through the ministry of a wonderful organization called Sanctified Art. They have equipped us with Advent graphics, themes, words for worship, and daily devotion. If you have a need for a devotional please let us know–there may be extras to share.
Third, you will notice that Christmas Eve will be different this year. Due to the pandemic numbers rising weekly, we will be offering two services that night–a 5:00pm and 7:00pm. The 5:00pm will be more casual and consist of a Carol Sing. We’ll still sing Silent Night by candle light at the end. The 7:00pm service will be like our traditional yearly service. We plan on having them shared online (at this point) and would invite people to pick just one of the services to go to. We hope to spread out attendance a bit and still have overflow seating in the Fellowship Hall with a tv monitor as needed. Please plan accordingly and be sure to wear a mask. Of course, if we determine that we have to make other changes we will communicate those as soon as we possibly can. Thank you for your cooperation, flexibility, and support!
Fourth, keep an eye out for an announcement on our Blue Christmas Service date. We plan on having one and will keep you informed. Blue Christmas Service is a space during the Christmas season to be able to share our pain and grief with God.
Thank you all so much, have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving, and I am looking forward to worshipping with you this Sunday.
Peace in Christ,
Chad
Advent at MCCC: 2021
THEME: Close to Home
DEVOTIONAL: “Close To Home” by Sanctified Art
Art, Poetry, Songs, & Reflections for the Season of Advent
Our theme this year–“Close to Home”–beckons us to find our home in God. Our Advent worship will acknowledge the “already but not yet” tension within our faith: Emmanuel is with us, and yet, God’s promised day of redemption—when all is made whole–is not fully realized. Until then, we long for God’s presence more fully and deeply in our lives. May you be blessed this Christmas as we prepare our hearts and minds for God to come close to home.
