MCCC Weekly Updates – July 25th
Good Evening Congregation!
Below is our Weekly (& beyond) Calendar of Events for MCCC & Community! Things are really starting to “pop” at MCCC and how wonderful it is to see some new events listed! I hope you will take a stroll through the pages, then mark your calendars with those events you would like to attend.
Be mindful of a few events that are coming up soon:
1) Our free community LOAVES & FISHES meal is THIS THURSDAY, July 28th from 5-6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall! We would love to see all your smiling faces there 😁 so please stop by & join us for Pulled Pork sandwiches, Cole Slaw. Macaroni Salad, Jello Salad and Ice Cream with toppings for dessert (Lactose free ice cream or sherbet will also be available.) Donations are gratefully accepted but not required. NO COOKING LADIES!!! Bring the family!
2) MARSI (Mantua Restoration Society) is hosting their MONTHLY BRUNCH at the old Mantua Center School, THIS SUNDAY from 12-2pm! Their menu is entitled “Salad Days”, and they will be serving (for take-out or eat-in) the following: Taco Salad, Chicken Bok Choy Salad, German Potato Salad with Sausage, Pasta Salad, Fruit Salad, Candy Apple Salad and Assorted Pies for dessert. Donations are gratefully received. Stop by & feed your family or take-out a meal for a neighbor or friend. AGAIN . . . NO COOKING LADIES! WOW! TWO MEALS WITHIN ONE WEEK!
3) On Saturday, August 6th, Kathleen Lewarchick will be hosting our first “Centering Prayer Session” at 9:30am at her home! I hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to sit quietly in prayerful repose and receive God into your heart. Please RSVP Kathleen directly if you have any questions or would like to attend at: [email protected]. I have attached her flyer which provides some history of this Christian practice. We are blessed that she has graciously opened up a session for all at MCCC! Thank you Kathleen!
I also want to make sure everyone knows that Doug & Jessy Rice have a new address. It is: 3105 Coventry Place Drive, King, North Carolina 27021. We wish them well at this new location and look forward to seeing them on their next visit!
As I close on this Monday evening, I am reminded of a saying that I read this past week by Mona Lee. (This is paraphrased:)
My wish for you is . . .
“for days that you wake up and the weight of the world feels light.
For days when laughter makes your belly hurt,
for days where kind people touch your very soul.”
May you have a blessed week with lightness, laughter, and kindness that touches your soul!
