A Message from Pastor Chad – I’m Back!
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
It is so good to be back with you! My family and I have been so extremely blessed by our Sabbatical Renewal and very much look forward to returning to life with our church family. Our time away was filled with rest, travel, and reconnection. I’m so thankful for the wisdom of the Sabbatical Team (Brian Hurd, Katie Baird, and Nancy Humes) in planning and preparing my time away. The thoughtfulness, care, and encouragement they gave allowed us to plan a time that would be an inspiration to me, my family, and to the church. What an incredible gift!
I’m very eager to hear from you how this Sabbatical Renewal impacted you and pray that it was fruitful! It could not have happened without all the hard work of our staff, super volunteers, and congregation members. Before I left, I shared with you the story of when I first came to MCCC and a member said to me, “We don’t need you, but we’re glad you’re here!” Our church is so very strong in leadership, wisdom, and hard workers…the church moves forward because we are all part of this together. I’m sure you have much to share with me and if you would like to get together to catch up I would welcome it! The best way to set an appointment with me is to use my calendly (very easy to use–link below). If you can’t find something there or just rather, you can reach out to me via email/text/phone and we can get coffee, lunch, bike ride, take a walk on the trail, or chat on the phone. I would love it!

Again, our family wants to express our deepest appreciation for the time and opportunities we had to enjoy one another and God’s Creation. Over the course of our time away, I wrote down “lessons” I want to share with you in preaching this fall. I will share learning and reflections from my cut-short retreat, our INCREDIBLE trip to California national parks, my Great Allegheny Passage bike trip, and more. There is much to share and reflect upon with you as we move forward in mission together.
In the meantime, there is a LOT to catch up on and I ask for your patience and prayers as I get re-integrated and settled back in.
Can’t wait to see everyone in worship on Sunday!
God’s grace and peace be with you,
Chad
