The time of year has approached that Kids Weekend Meals has to begin fundraising for the school year 2023-2024! And now is your time to be able to “Adopt a Kid”! Now, no kids must be taken home… do not worry.

2023 begins our 9th year of feeding kids on weekends for the Crestwood School District. We feed the kids breakfasts, lunches, and snacks on the weekends. At this point, we are feeding 175 kids in 75 families, and we expect those numbers either to remain the same or to rise by about 50 kids.

During 2023, we have already spent $13,947.37 just for food products which include fresh fruits and veggies and proteins like some meats and cheeses. Keeping this amount in mind, means that it costs us $1992.48 per month; or $12 per month for each child.

Our goal this year is to keep supplying plentiful fruit and veggies and to possibly add a little more in the protein department. KWM has come a long, long way in supplying nutritional foods for our kids. It has been a learning journey…

The adoption fees are as follows:

• 1 child for 3 months: $37
• 1 child for 6 months: $73
• 1 child for a year: $145

When we started in 2015, we felt then, as we do now, that this ministry should be one of community. Our community has supported us very well and our greatest hope is that this continues. Feeding kids so their tummies are full supports the behavioral and academic process. Please continue to be part of our village!
