MCCC Updates – May 24, 2026

May 24th, will be Pentecost Sunday. Through scripture, special lighting of candles, our service will focus on this event, led by Rev. Nancy Humes. Hope you will come and perhaps learn something new about Pentecost and the Holy Spirit! Don’t forget to wear something red! If you feel led, any color resembling fire (orange/yellow), would be wonderful to honor this day! JOIN US in person or on our Youtube channel!
The Free Clothing and Diaper Giveaway does NOT need any more 30-gallon black trash bags. Nancy & Lynn sincerely thank you for all your donations. Needed items are: Baby Wipes, Diapers, and regular 15-gallon trash bags. Thank you again for all your support!
NEXT Sunday, May 31st, is the 5th Sunday of the month potluck! Nancy Humes’ Sunday School Class will be hosting this event and we certainly appreciate their willingness to step up! Please bring a dish to share at 12pm and gather together with our church family! Also, think about any groups you are a part of within the church and let me know if you would be willing to host the next 5th Sunday potluck!

On a side note . . .
I know I sometimes “preach” (maybe too much!) about putting your best foot forward and shining your light to others. I have always believed that brightening someone else’s day also brightens yours. With that being said, this week was a very stressful one for me. My husband was in the hospital this week due to two fractured ribs. I must give a shout-out to all the nursing staff at Geauga Hospital. As stressful as their jobs can be, and regardless of what their patients were experiencing, every nurse came in with a smile and an attitude that brightened our day. EVERY DAY! It really made us feel that God was present, and it was through the Holy Spirit that we were all uplifted.
We all have been blessed by the Holy Spirit with individual talents and qualities that make us unique individuals. Think about what YOUR talents are and how you can use them to help others.
Blessings to everyone this coming week as we honor those who fought for our country and died in the line of duty. Remember to shine YOUR light and bring a smile to those you encounter. Be especially mindful of those who might need a little more support this weekend.
Sandi
