MCCC Church Family,

Last Sunday we got to experience the adventure of online Zoom worship! It didn’t quite go as planned…we couldn’t see each other on Zoom…but we got to HEAR from, celebrate, and bless our Xplor Residents as they departed the program.  

It was reminder of how much grace and support we’ve received as leaders as we navigate all this new territory and what it means to gather as communities together.  I hope that we can find more ways to connect with our church neighbors during this time so we can gather as big a network of support as possible.  We are still the church together even it might look a little different or if it doesn’t go quite as designed!  

MCCC Update – Forming Discernment Team

I spoke with our church board on Sunday about the need for a small group to discern some next steps for MCCC.  We have an enormous responsibility to care for one another during this time, so any decisions made towards any kind of “in-person” events (worship, social, service, etc) will be done with the greatest of caution and with the most updated information.  There is an urgency developing around the country to “re-open” everything with economic interests in mind (understandably), but we have a different set of values we operate from and have alternatives available to us.  I will say, as your pastor, I am in no rush and desire strongly to keep in mind the most vulnerable among us.  

The group will gather in the next month and hope to have some criteria/guidance for our board by our June 28th meeting.  If you have input on this subject feel free to call me or email me.  

Lookout for the MCCC Directory

Pretty soon we will have completed our digital directory to pass out among the congregation.  Remember to respond to Sandi’s email if you want any changes/updates, restrictions, or if you DON’T want to be included.  Otherwise, we will print what we have!  

The idea, of course, is to equip you with addresses and phone numbers to write/call one another for support.  Perhaps you could make it a goal to contact someone once/week?  Twice? Once a month?  That may be a challenge for some of us, but we need to reach out to one another now more than ever.  

Zoom Opportunities

At MCCC we have Life Study, Wednesday Prayer, and MCCC Kid’s Call (see sign-in info below) as opportunities to gather together. If you would like to gather separately for prayer or conversation (individually or small group), please be in touch with me.  

– Tuesday Life Study from 6:30-7:30pm 
Tonight we will begin a new study with Sarah leading.  Join us tonight for conversation! 
– Wednesday Prayer – Afternoon at 2:00pm.  
We get together for a time of sharing and prayer. One of the ways we can support each other through this time.  
– MCCC Kid’s Call on Thurs at 7:00pm.  
A Scavenger Hunt and a Story!  Feel free to invite friends and family to join us.
