This Sunday, filling in for Pastor Chad, we will be blessed to hear the words of Beth Schabel as she enlightens us with her sermon! It is sure to be a wonderful experience for all! Joining Beth is Nancy Humes who is serving as Worship Leader (and more!), Ruth Anne Ruehr and Jon Secaur who will lead us through Communion, Rick Painley who will close us out with his Benediction, and Sarah Park who guides us through her hymnal music – and more! We will also have Cheryl Delaney who will provide our Special Music Selection! I also can’t forget “those not seen” during the service, Carol Magyarics and Rick Painley who keep our services going online through YouTube live!! It really does take a village to run Mantua Center Christian Church, and we are so very grateful for all who volunteer their time and talents!
On a side note . . .
I came upon a quote by Oscar Wilde this week and wanted to share it with you. For those of you who might be unfamiliar with Oscar Wilde (1854-1900), he was an Irish poet, playwright, who was also known for his wit. He had quite the colorful life which tragically ended in his fall from grace. His quote below struck me as a show not only of his wit, but also a reminder to us all:
“Even the tiniest gesture of kindness holds more value
~Oscar Wilde
than the grandest of intentions.”
This quote emphasizes the profound impact of small acts of kindness compared to grand intentions. It serves as a reminder that genuine compassion and empathy in action hold immeasurable value. It encourages us to prioritize tangible acts of kindness, as they have the power to make a significant difference in the lives of others.
So, again, I am reminding you as you go out this week, running your errands, going to work, or just chatting over coffee with friends, to set your intentions on not just “saying” or “thinking” you are going to do something kind for someone . . . but getting out there and shining your light on them! Even the tiniest gesture, the tiniest spark of kindness, can change someone’s day, and maybe their life! Watch kindness spread!
Blessings to you all this week and beyond! Remember to keep the Delaney Family in your prayers as they enjoy their vacation time together!
