MCCC Updates – April 19, 2026

Well, God really decided to surprise us with quite a storm this week! A few trees came down at my property, blocking the drive and taking our power and internet lines with them! Everything has been restored now, though it took a few days. For me, it was just another lesson in patience! I hope you all made it through safely and that most of you made it through without losing power! It is amazing how dependent we are on electricity and the internet these days! Yikes!
We will have the pleasure of having Rev. Cynthia Klingemier back in the pulpit this Sunday! We will host a small reception for her following worship to express our “Thanks” for stepping in and leading us through the Easter Season so beautifully! It will be wonderful to have her presence at MCCC once again! Thank you, Cynthia, for all your help with worship, Loaves & Fishes, and your participation in our Sunday Classes and various meetings. We welcomed all your suggestions!
To all the WOMEN of the church, we will hold a brief (15 min.) meeting tomorrow immediately after worship to vote on the disbursement of funds to help other missions. Your vote matters so please make a point of staying before going downstairs for Cynthia’s reception!
For those interested, there WILL be a Board Meeting tomorrow at 12:00pm. (Steve Hurd is our new Board Chair, and all are welcome to attend.
A reminder to all: We will hold a brief Congregational Meeting NEXT SUNDAY, April 26th to approve the new leadership of the church. Please plan to stay in the sanctuary immediately after worship to participate in that vote! It should only take a few minutes.
We will also host a “Congregational Cafe” on May 17th, so please mark your calendars. Our Regional Minister designed this to help us playfully and conversationally explore six questions about our experience and perspectives on the church and ministry. This should only last about an hour and our Regional Elder for District 3, Terry Bartlett, will help guide us through the process. Please plan to stay and participate as the answers to these questions will provide helpful information for our search committee as they prepare our Congregational Profile for the Search for our new Pastor. Please read the beginning of the announcements (last 2 pages of the attached bulletin) for more details. Plan to stay after worship on May 17th. Your answers matter!
CYF is in need of any old tools that still have some life in them! If you have any you would like to donate for their Mission Trip in June, please place them in the designated box in the front entrance of the church. They will be saving them and using them on future Mission Trips. Items needed are: Phillips head screwdriver, Flathead screwdriver, Hammer, Pliers, Ta[e measure, Box cutter, Safety goggles, Work gloves, and a tool bag or small toolbox. Thanks for supporting our kids!

On a side note . . .
This has been a whirlwind of a week for me. With a couple of all day medical testing appointments, losing power for a couple days, a blocked driveway where the trees came down, internet just returning late last night, and not being able to work on “my church work” until today, I am grateful this week is over! As I write this message, I feel a nagging sense that I am forgetting something . . . and I probably am. I hope I have at least noted the most important items to keep you in the loop. If I have forgotten to mention something, my one saving grace is knowing that I belong to a church with very forgiving members, and for that I am very grateful! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I wish you all a beautiful upcoming week filled with many blessings. Remember to always greet others with kindness and a smile . . . they may have had a week like I did – or worse! Lol!
Sandi
