MCCC Updates – April 25, 2026

A reminder to all: We will hold a brief Congregational Meeting TOMORROW, April 26th to approve the church’s new leadership and budget. Please plan to stay in the sanctuary immediately after worship to participate in that vote! It should only take a few minutes. Take a few minutes to look the documents below and bring any questions to the meeting!
Don’t forget to bring your 4C’s items to donate tomorrow and also your boxes of coins for Week of Compassion! The kids will collect these items during the Children’s Moment.
We will also host a “Congregational Cafe” on May 17th, so mark your calendars. Our Regional Minister designed this to help us playfully and conversationally explore six questions about our experience and perspectives on the church and ministry. This should only last about an hour and our Regional Elder for District 3, Terry Bartlett, will help guide us through the process. Plan to stay and participate as the answers to these questions will provide helpful information for our search committee as they prepare our Congregational Profile in search of our new Pastor. Please read the beginning of the announcements (last 2 pages of the attached bulletin) for more details. Plan to stay after worship on May 17th. Your answers matter!
CYF is in need of any old tools that still have some life in them! If you have any you would like to donate for their Mission Trip in June, please place them in the designated box in the front entrance of the church. They will be saving them and using them on future Mission Trips. Items needed are: Phillips head screwdriver, Flathead screwdriver, Hammer, Pliers, Tape measure, Box cutter, Safety goggles, Work gloves, and a tool bag or small toolbox. Thanks for supporting our kids!

On a side note, listen . . . listen . . . listen . . . I would like to take some time, to thank all those individuals who work behind the scenes in our church to make our services welcoming! To name just a few, Carol Magyarics who provides all things “Tech” to record our services for those online. She also does a wonderful job keeping our church webpage updated. If you haven’t gone to it recently, take a few minutes and look through all she provides! (mantuacentercc.org). Rick Painley works alongside Carol and takes over the recording when Carol isn’t available. Between the two of them they make a great team! You will always see Rick “bouncing around,” taking care of extra activities before Sunday services. He is a Jack of all trades! Beth Voynovich is our premier custodian for the church. She does a great job making sure the sanctuary and the rest of the church are neat and clean! She is a blessing! Steve and Brian Hurd seem to ALWAYS be involved in leading the church one way or another! I’m not sure the church could function without their guidance, and I personally don’t want to find out what that would be like! Shelly Poots has taken over making coffee every Sunday and does a great job. Thank you, Shelly, for stepping up to fill that position – we all look forward to grabbing a cup every Sunday and just the smell of it brewing is heavenly! Also, Laura Parker continues to provide the church with her homemade gluten-free communion bread. It is WONDERFUL and those on a gluten-free diet REALLY appreciate her dedication to baking for the church. Sarah Park who does a wonderful job as Music Director, can play anything at any time! She also organizes all the “Special Music” for each Sunday and it has been exciting to see who our special music guest will be each week! Thanks to all who participate in that part of the service! Sarah also organizes our Choir selections and does a fabulous job. Last, but NOT least, is our Bell Choir Director Cheryl Delaney! It has been such a joy to hear the bells in church again and we are blessed to still have Cheryl lead the bell ringers of Mantua Center Christian Church! All these individuals are such a blessing!
I am also extending a special “thanks” to all the leaders of the church: Kids Weekend Meals, Prayer Shawl, Holding Crosses, Mitten Tree, Youth Ministries, Free Clothing & Diaper Giveaway, Sunday Class Leaders, Potluck organizers, Board Chairs, Elders, Treasurer and Finance Committees, Greeters, Bicentennial Committee, Finance Committee, Worship Committee, Smile Team, Nursery Attendant and Youth Sunday School Leader, Mission Trip organizers, Deacons, Loaves & Fishes, and Day of Kindness. I’m sure I am missing even more!
