The Third Century Team, led by Jon Secaur, had researched, designed and presented plans to improve the MCCC church building to be welcoming to all by including access to the chancel level to those with mobility challenges.

A congregational vote was taken by ballot to determine if the team should continue the project, beginning with the pursuit of grant and moonshot funding. The results were presented during announcements on July 12, 2026 (see MCCC 7/16/2026 YouTube service)

45 voted by ballot in person:

• 21 YES to continue
• 24 NO

35 voted by mail:

• 15 YES to continue
• 20 NO

80 Total Votes

• 36 YES to continue (45%)
• 44 NO (55%)

The congregation has voted NOT to continue the project at this time. Perhaps after a settled pastor is called, the team can revisit the opportunity to move forward with the architectural plans.
