KWM has partnered with a member of Silver Creek Church in Aurora.  We work with Bruce Harris.  He provides a lot of the food that we distribute to the 145 kids we currently serve.  In May, there is a huge program that KWM as well as 4C’s will benefit greatly from; but it will take a lot of help. Mantua is expected to contribute some efforts as well as Aurora volunteers.

On May 7th and on the 14th, there will be a very large door to door effort being planned which will bring much needed food to not only KWM and 4C’s but also to two food relief agencies in Aurora.  I have attached the flyer that Bruce Harris has sent but, briefly, here is what we need.  These instructions are for local Mantua volunteers only.

On May 7th, we need people to put rolled bags and instructions to stick in mailbox flags.  I will be at the church (MCCC) at 9:00 to distribute bags.  This is probably a drive up to the mailbox, stick the bag under the flag, move on.  We are only covering three developments:  The one we live in, off of Mantua Center Road; the one off of Mennonite between Mantua Center and Frost Road; the one off of 82.  These are all newer developments.  I will have better directions…

On May 14th, we will need drivers and runners to pick up any canned goods left on front stoops, porches, etc…After pick up, these will go to Silver Creek Church.  All products from this collection will go through the first sort; and then be transferred to a warehouse for the second sort.  We will need many people for this job.  All together, we need about 300 people from both Mantua and Aurora.
