MCCC Announcements – September 20, 2025

Greetings Church Family,
Every year on the first Sunday in October, this year it is October 5th, Christians around the globe celebrate World Communion Sunday. It is a day to remember that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church and that every Christian Church and any denomination that promotes Christian unity are one. On this day, people draw faith and inspiration from seeing that they are part of a community that boasts millions of believers and worshippers. MCCC would again like to have a sampling of breads provided by the congregation members. Please start thinking about bringing any type of bread (either homemade or store bought) to church by 9:15 am on Sunday, Oct. 5th. (The earlier the better so we have time to set it up!) We will be celebrating breads from all around the world so if you are able to bring a bread representing your family nationality all the better! Be sure to mark what it is. We will enjoy the varieties in the Fellowship Hall following worship prior to Sunday classes! Jam, jellies, honey, etc. are all welcome too! Thanks in advance for participating!
This Thursday, September 25th from 5-6:30pm, we will host our Loaves & Fishes free community dinner! The menu this month is a “Mystery Meal.” Please come and join in fellowship with others, while enjoying a home-cooked meal that YOU don’t have to cook! All are welcome. Donations are gratefully accepted but not required. Hope to see you Thursday! There is only 1 more dinner to go in 2025!
Also, just a reminder that Derthick Corn Maze is now open on the weekends through Oct. 26th! It is a great time filled with lots of family fun so please check it out if you haven’t before! (Prices are: 0-3 are Free; 4-64 are $13.00 each; 65+ are $8.00 each.) More details and all other announcements will be found on the last two pages of the attached bulletin, so please take a look!

This Sunday Pastor Chad will be speaking on our 5th and final week in our “Lord’s Prayer” series, “lead us not into temptation. . .” Joining him tomorrow will be Leighton Baynes as Worship Leader, our Elder’s Sally Hoffman & Kathleen Leigh-Lewarchick who will lead us through Communion, Sarah Park will guide us through our hymns through her beautiful music, and Jon Secaur & Beth Schabel will provide our Special Music selection! Thanks to all for sharing your “talents” to make our worship service so meaningful!
On a side note . . .
I hope you have enjoyed and perhaps gained a new perspective during Pastor Chad’s “Lord’s Prayer” series over the past few weeks. Each segment of the prayer can take on a new and more complete meaning when taking the time to slow down and really dissect the content. If you would like to continue the process of taking scriptures and have some great conversations with others about them, Chad offers a Wednesday class, “Dwelling in the Word,” from 1:30-2:30 where he takes scriptures that will be used in future sermons and discusses their meanings. Feel free to join in for some great discussions. Also, keep in mind that “Life Study” will return on October 8th from 6-7:30pm! Stay tuned for more info on that class in the next couple of weeks!
Blessings to you all this coming week, in all you do, to bring light and love to others! Amen!
Sandi
