Pastor Chad’s Message – Sept. 26, 2025

As summer begins to shift into fall, we are always reminded that change is a constant part of life and a consistent invitation to notice God’s presence in all things. Take a moment this week to watch for the subtle cues of the season: the lengthening days, the coolness of the morning air, and the first leaves starting to change. Just as the earth changes, so do our lives, and we trust that as we do so, God offers guidance, care, and renewal.
One of my favorite scriptures is a familiar one in Ecclesiastes 3:1: “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” As we watch the world around us change, may we also watch for God’s quiet movement in our lives—the small signs of hope, provision, and grace.
Speaking of HOPE…I want to give thanks for several ministries in our midst that embody signs of God’s provision and grace in tangible ways:
- Loaves & Fishes: Led faithfully by Carolin Newell, our monthly community meal continues to serve many in our community. Thank you to Carolin, all the volunteers, and those who provide desserts…it is a true gift of hospitality and love!
- Kids Weekend Meals: Under the leadership of Liz & Paul Meeker, this ministry now feeds over 180 children each weekend. Its growth and reputation have grown so much that it has now inspired the exploration of forming a 501(c)(3) under our church’s umbrella! Amazing! This possibility will allow the ministry to seek additional support and continue expanding. Let’s celebrate God’s guidance in this work and the blessing it brings to so many families in our community.
As the seasons shift and ministries grow, we are reminded that God’s love is at work in both the small, quiet moments and the big, visible acts of service. Let’s continue to watch, serve, and give thanks for the ways God is moving among us.
This Sunday in worship we will look at a challenging passage in 1 Kings about Elijah. Elijah’s story is a powerful one and we have much to learn from it. Looking forward to being with you in worship!
Peace,
Pastor Chad
