A Message from Pastor Chad – Clarity, Snow Storm, FAQ

There are seasons in life and faith when we really want clarity, but what we’re given instead is uncertainty. We want a clear map, a defined timeline, a sense of resolution…but what we experience is something closer to wilderness. We’re not lost exactly, but don’t feel fully settled either. We are somewhere between what has been and what is still becoming.
Scripture reminds us that God does some of God’s deepest work in these “in-between places.” Israel did not receive clarity all at once in the wilderness—insteady they got daily bread. The disciples did not immediately understand what came next after resurrection (some had their doubts!, but they learned to trust in God’s promises. We see in scripture again and again, faith is formed not by having all the answers, but by learning to rely on God when answers are still unfolding.
I’ve felt this very strongly in this season of transition we are living into as a congregation. There is both grief and gratitude, hope and uncertainty, clarity in some places and real questions in others. It can be tempting to rush through this moment and want everything resolved, explained, and settled. But perhaps this season is also an invitation to trust that God is still at work, even when the picture is incomplete. To believe that growth, calling, and new life often emerge in the space between confusion and clarity.
This Sunday, we’ll spend time reflecting on how God equips people for ministry not all at once, not perfectly, but faithfully especially in seasons like this. My hope is that we’ll listen for how God might be calling each of us right here and right now in such a time as this.
Worship and the SNOW STORM! A quick logistical note as we head into the weekend: due to the massive storm front expected to move through the area, it may unfortunately be the safest option to move worship to a virtual format this Sunday morning. This is not an easy decision especially given how much I will cherish every opportunity to be together during this season, but safety must come first! Please stay tuned to your email and our social media channels for updates as we continue to monitor conditions.
MCCC Transition FAQ coming…
Please also know that our leadership team continues to work carefully and thoughtfully on the FAQ document and next steps for the congregation. As soon as that work is complete and there is solid, clear information to share, it will be communicated to everyone.
In the meantime, stay warm, stay safe, and continue to hold our congregation in prayer as we prepare for worship this weekend. Even in the in-between, God is present and still leading us forward.
Peace,
Pastor Chad
