Pastor Chad’s Message – Seminary Intern, Potluck, Third Century, Worship

This week, we are excited to celebrate and welcome Kathleen as an intern at MCCC as she continues her seminary education at Duke Divinity School. She’s starting a 10-week field education placement with us. During this time, she will be: meeting regularly with me, exploring different ways to serve the church, and assisting in preaching and leading worship.
As her placement congregation, we have the unique privilege of supporting her growth in ministry. We invite you to:
- Receive her with open minds, open hearts, and open arms,
- Participate with flexibility and grace as she learns and experiments in ministry, and
- Hold her in your prayers, supporting her as she faithfully responds to God’s call.
Scripture reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5:11: “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” Let’s take this to heart as we walk alongside Kathleen in her journey, offering encouragement, guidance, and prayer.
We are grateful for the ways God is equipping the next generation of pastors, chaplains, and leaders and we are blessed to be part of Kathleen’s learning and formation. May her time with us deepen her faith, sharpen her gifts, and expand the ways she can serve God’s people.
Potluck this Sunday – 4-7pm
You’re invited to Steve & Kweethai’s home this Sunday, 4–7 PM, for a casual potluck gathering! Please bring a dish to share, your own tableware, and a chair. Come enjoy fellowship, laughter, and good food—we hope to see you there!
Third Century Team
The Third Century Team continues to gather to discern possible next steps for our building moving into our third century of ministry. There is lots to consider and any possibilities will be laid before the church board and the whole congregation when the time comes. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or to the chair of the committee, Jon Secaur.
Worship
This Sunday, join us for the 2nd Sunday of our Lord’s Prayer series, as we reflect on Matthew 6:10: “Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Together, we will explore what it means to live out God’s will and God’s kingdom in our daily lives. I hope to see you in the house or online!
Peace in Christ,
Chad
