From Pastor Chad – My Pledge Confession, Life Study, and Worship

I am writing you with an urgent confession… and wondering if you might be in the same position the Delaney family is in.
Every year we make our pledge to the church and set up our account on Aplos (online giving) to have our weekly recurring donation set up. This year, we had the numbers on our debit card change and so I replaced our payment method on the Aplos website. The indicator on our recurring donation is “ACTIVE” status. I thought there was no problem. However, when I went into the our account I saw that it has NOT been withdrawing our pledge!
It turns out that I needed to ALSO update my account under the “Payment Method” tab to make sure the right credit card was actually selected to be drawn from. And I had to go under the Recurring Donation tab and next to my recurring donation I pressed the option to “Edit recurring donation” to make sure it restarted.
If you are an ONLINE GIVER to the church, will you please check or double-check your account? Not only that it is active, but that your payment method is correct, and your giving is arriving at MCCC? Hopefully that is the case.
I remember when this happened to our beloved Pastor Len, he came before the congregation and made a confession…I guess it is my turn.
The Apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 9:7: “God loves a cheerful giver.” Cheerful giving isn’t about the size of our gift–it’s about the heart behind it. When we give with joy, we show our trust in God’s care and our gratitude for God’s blessings. Our generosity becomes a way of joining in God’s work of love and hope and peace in the world.
It is a joy of our family’s life to give to our wonderful church to support our staff and ministries. We will be working on our end to make up this difference and contribute in the way we promised! May our giving be done just out of duty and obligation, but out of thanksgiving–an act of joy that reflects God’s love and grace!

The Lord’s Prayer Finale
We’ve reached the 5th and final week of our series on The Lord’s Prayer! Join us as we explore the powerful line, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” Together we’ll reflect on God’s guidance in our trials and the hope we find in Christ. We’d love to see you there!
See you Sunday,
Chad
