Pastor Chad’s Message – Dwelling & Ice Cream

This week I’ve been getting ready to start back up our weekly Dwelling in the Word bible study (Sept 10) and I’ve been thinking a lot about what a gift it is to have scripture passed down through the generations. We have in our hands a library of sacred text written thousands of years ago that truly helps us understand better who we are and who God is. Scripture grounds us, guides us, and nourishes us like daily bread…if we abide in it as often as we can. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Let’s not take this light for granted!
Our Dwelling in the Word study gives everyone a chance to set aside intentional time to be in God’s word every week. Together we will take time not just to read the Bible but to truly sit with it to listen, wonder, and let God’s Spirit speak through the words and through one another. If you’ve never joined before, this is a wonderful time to start! We’ll meet Wednesdays from 1:30–2:30 p.m. (gathering at 1:15). Please come and join us!
This Sunday is also packed with good stuff:
Ice Cream Social – We’re kicking off our Sunday School year right after worship with ice cream! Bring your favorite toppings to share and stick around for fellowship and conversation at our Sunday Chat.
Welcome Faith Brewer – We’re thrilled to welcome Faith Brewer as our new Children’s Ministry Intern! Faith has been part of Chi-Rho, CYF, and Mission Trips for years, and she’s now a freshman at Hiram College. She brings a heart for kids, energy for ministry, and fresh ideas to help grow our children’s program. She’s been working with us since August and we are so excited to have her onboard.
Thank You for the Picnic – Last week’s church picnic at Kweethai and Steve’s home was such a joy. The food was delicious, the setting was beautiful, and the fellowship was truly a blessing. Thank you to our gracious hosts and to everyone who came out to share the afternoon.
Worship This Sunday – We continue our Lord’s Prayer Series as we reflect on “Give us this day our daily bread.” We are also excited to welcome our seminary intern, Kathleen Leigh-Lewarchick, to the pulpit to share the Word with us.
Friends, may God’s Word be your daily bread in the week ahead. I look forward to seeing you in worship…your presence TRULY MATTERS and we hope you set time aside this week to join us!
In Christ,
Chad
